Spain

In July 2022, Renewco launched in Spain as part of our European expansion strategy. Since then, the Renewco Spain team have successfully developed a robust portfolio of projects throughout the country.

Renewco’s portfolio in Spain is led by our greenfield development team and is complemented by a few  co-developments with local companies utilising different technologies. This portfolio structure enables us to access and develop projects across all technologies throughout Spain

We focus on achieving the best strategic positioning for upcoming power grid tenders, with onshore wind, utility scale solar PV, hydrogen and BESS projects. Currently, we are developing over 2GW of renewable projects across Spain.

Technologies

Solar: The Spanish solar market is one of the most mature in Spain, featuring industry-leading companies with attractive opportunities in the medium and long term.

Wind: The evolution of wind technology will enable its expansion in coming years throughout Spain.

Green Hydrogen: Spain’s abundant renewable resources makes it one of the markets with the highest potential to produce European green hydrogen to be consumed both domestically and globally.

Storage: The development of specific regulation in the coming years represents a significant business opportunity in Spain.

We have expanded our Renewco Spain team over the last two years with the addition of experienced renewable energy sector professionals and are now in a position to capitalise on future opportunities. Our team is currently distributed between Madrid and Seville, giving us the ability to develop different types of projects throughout the country.
