Storage Power System Analyst /Grid Engineer - London Based

The main objective of this role is to support country specific storage development strategy and pipeline identification through the use of power system and network insights and analysis.  The successful candidate will utilize their knowledge and experience of power systems to assess opportunities and risks for storage projects in specific locations and nodes, thereby identifying preferable connection points.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist the Storage team in power market and policy analysis across European markets to develop business cases for storage projects based on future revenue streams.

Key activities and responsibilities:

·        Power system and TSO grid analysis to identify locational opportunities and restrictions for potential storage projects

·        Substation scoping to identify connection opportunities, restrictions and potential costs

·        Analysis of European and UK policy and regulatory initiatives that can power system management and network development, thereby impacting storage project opportunities 

·        Support country specific development teams though advising on development criteria relevant to networks as well as grid connection processes and applications.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

·       2-3 years of experience working with a TSO, DNO, storage developer or technical consultancy with technical specialism in power systems and networks.

·        Masters’ degree or equivalent, preferably in engineering, providing electrical network understanding at a principle level and ability to analyse complex datasets

·        High IT proficiency in MS Excel, macros and/or programming

·        Ability to distil complex analysis into concise hypothesis and conclusions
