Harehill Energy Park

Introduction

Renewco Power with their development partner Locogen have submitted a planning application to Durham County Council for a new solar energy project near Shotton Colliery, Durham. The project is called Harehill Energy Park and will include up to 31.5MW of Solar PV panels and a 10.35MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The planning application was submitted December 2024.

Location

The proposed development is situated at Harehill Farm and near to Shotton Colliery, south of the B1283 in County Durham

Our Proposal

In December 2024, we submitted a Planning Application to Durham County Council. The following reports have been submitted as part of the planning application:

  • Outline Biodiversity Enhancement and Management Plan;
  • Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment;
  • Noise Impact Assessment;
  • Archaeology & Heritage Impact Assessment;
  • Water Environment Appraisal;
  • Private Water Supply Risk Assessment;
  • Flood Risk Assessment;
  • Surface Water Management Plan;
  • Glint & Glare Assessment;
  • Outline Construction Environmental Management Plan; and
  • Transport Statement (includes Outline Construction Traffic Management Plan).
