Land Acquisition Manager - Spain

Job Details 

We are looking for someone who is interested in the renewable energy industry and has a solid background and personal network in rural farming. 

Renewco Power is a renewable energy early stage development company with operations in the UK Europe and U.S. We are dedicated to developing high quality greenfield solar and wind projects and we have big ambitions in supporting the clean energy transition. 

Given our expanding business in Spain, we are looking for a Land Acquisition Advisor who will support us with originating and acquiring land for potential solar and storage projects. The role will be predominantly field based, building trusting and lasting relationships with landowners as well as:  

Key responsibilities:

  • Representing Renewco in the search, evaluation, negotiation and closing of land deals for Solar and storage throughout Iberia
  • Carrying out field visits to obtain necessary data for negotiation with land owners
  • Negotiating and drafting competitive land agreements
  • Taking a lead role in delivering land rights and any associated matters
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with landowners, tenant farmers, land managers
  • Attending any necessary consultations and meetings with stakeholder groups
  • Establish business contacts with public bodies that have knowledge in our market
  • Staying well informed on all issues affecting the countryside and keeping up to date with new regulations that are likely to affect land use

Key Skills and Experience

  • Commercial experience/training
  • Technical FP degree, technical engineering (preferably agronomist or agricultural), ADE or similar.
  • Previous experience working in the Spanish photovoltaic solar energy markets (it is a desirable requirement).
  • Excellent network of local rural landowners
  • Valuable previous experience in expropriations and/or rights of way, or previous experience in renting rural land.
  • Possess knowledge of real estate, as well as the necessary documentation to prove ownership of a farm/land
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, adapted to the negotiations for the closing of the lease or similar
  • Ability to identify the charges associated with a property
  • Ability to carry out several projects at the same time in an organised way
