Associate Developer (US) Central

To proactively develop Renewco’s greenfield portfolio in the US, we are seeking a, utility scale renewable energy project developer with a commercial mindset pursuing and creating value while contributing to the development project pipeline.  This role will be directly involved in the day-to-day project decisions with a focus on several key US markets within SPP, MISO, WECC, and ERCOT.  The candidate can either be remote with a preference to reside in the target market within proximity to an airport for ease of business travel or near the US headquarters of Houston, Texas.

Key activities and responsibilities:

  •            Responsible to support the greenfield development process and potential acquisitions to get projects to NTP / construction ready within strategic timelines. 
  • Provide hands-on project management:
    • Securing land for utility scale Solar, BESS, and Wind
    • Managing project development process, schedules, and budgets
    • Liaising closely with Transmission / Interconnection, Real Estate, and Legal teams
  • With Development management support, be ready to manage projects through the development process with internal and external resources involving market and interconnection analyses, real estate assessments, landowner relationship building, environmental studies, property tax abatement, required permits, regulatory support, land surveys, support execution of interconnection & power purchase agreements, and EPC / commissioning support.
  • Responsible for keeping project progress reporting up to date.
  • Maintain transparent and timely internal project reporting to Development management.
  • Have strong computer skills with appetite to explore potential fit of new software platforms supporting project development.

Qualifications and experience:

  •         1-3 years of renewable development experience or project management experience.
  •       Able to thrive in remote, entrepreneurial work environment.
  •  Comfortable engaging with a team of internal colleagues and external consultants focused on making   continual progress on several projects through different stages of development.
  •  General understanding of the target market’s renewable trends and developments.
  •  Effective, agile thinker and project manager with relentless drive and a focus on the details.
  •  Work well within multi-disciplined teams across several time zones.
  •  Be able to problem solve by communicating with leadership your option analysis and recommended   solution.
  •  Have demonstrated grit and determination to meet or exceed project milestone goals.
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills especially in remote work environment.
  •  Willing to travel 20-40% domestically, with occasional trip to Europe.
  •  Business, engineering, energy related, or similar bachelor’s degree preferred.
